The peculiarity of the filter is that it doesn’t
need a pump or air blown for the backwasher and
basin.
Water to be treated is uniformly conveyed to the
filter area by inner distributors. The filter
bed consists of quartz sand particles with rated
grain-size.
Water flows through the whole length of the sand
bed and is filtered, is captured and leaves the
filter through the weir.
Sand flows slowly and constantly downwards by
gravity. At the bottom of the cone, sand is pumped
by means of compressed air through the pipe, where
sludge is separated and washed out.
Clean sand is recycled above the filter bed through
a chamber.
